A Magic Trick

The most unbelievable magic trick that takes place in the Brannen house is singing "The Itsy Bitsy Spider!" Go ahead and say it because I know you are thinking "what in the world is she talking about?" Whenever Will won't eat his food we start singing while he does the motions and he automatically opens his mouth!!! Don't ask me why but he just does. Here is how it works...

We sing... The Itsy Bitsy Spider went up the water spout....(notice his little fingers!)

...out came the sun...

...mouth opens and he eats big bites...

Ta Da!!! Dinner is gone...

Now everyone is happy and it is time to go play!!!

Yay, for Will!

Sunday afternoon nap...

Will is our little snuggle bug!! He will snuggle anytime and anywhere! And hugs are no different:) I prayed for a child that loves to snuggle and the Lord definitely answered that request!

Slurpin' good

My mom, Mandi, Cooper and Claire came to visit last week to help me with baby girls nursery (they were a huge help and I was very thankful for their creative minds). Anywho, that night as we waited on the snow storm that was predicted we went to the grill and devoured a yummy dinner that was topped off by some delicious milkshakes.

The kids slurped them dry...

It looks like we might have some kissin' cousins....

Since nobody was at the restaurant because of the nasty cold weather they had a good ole time playing choo choo....

It was cute until they fell on the nasty floor and wanted to play...

What you can't see in this picture are the tears rolling down Will's cheeks over the idea of having to share his daddy's "tar." His world has been shattered lately as he is learning the concept that he has to share his toys with our friends. Life is hard when you are 20 months old!It was so fun watching them laugh and play together. It made me excited about him having a sister that will be a playmate all the time!

Happy 2010!!

It is hard to believe that it is already 2010! We had a wonderful time ringing in the new year with lots of great friends at our annual Progressive Dinner! This is the 6th year that we have had it and it seems to get better every year. It started with four couples and has grown quite a bit over the years. The night started with appetizers at our house and then moved to the main course at the Coffey's and ended with dessert at the Rivers.

I forgot to mention that Will spent the night with Grammy and Papa's house for the first time all by himself! It was so amazing to be able to clean the house, decorate for the party, not worry about getting a babysitter on NYE and then to be able to sleep in (we slept until 10:00am!!!) with just the two of us! Will did great and I am pretty sure he did not even miss us one bit because he was being spoiled by his grandparents and aunt Kelly!

"Nesting"

I think it would be an understatement to say that I am "nesting" right now! In the past two days I have not stopped cleaning and organizing. Last night my sweet hubby built me some shelves in this closet so I can actually have places to put our wrapping paper, games, china, sewing stuff, scrapbooking stuff, ironing board and a lot more "junk". Here are the before and after pictures. I wish I could make a living out of doing stuff like this--it was so thrilling to see such a difference.

BEFORE.......
And AFTER.....
What do you think? It looks a little different, huh?!?

Joy to the World!

Joy to the World a Savior is born who is Christ the Lord! What a reason to celebrate! We had a wonderful time celebrating Christmas with both of our families. We first went to mine and enjoyed the usual fun, action packed time with all the kiddos....

Story time with Papa!

We took all the kids to the Conference center to see the amazing gingerbread house of Sanford Hall with the choo choo going around it.

Typical picture of sweet little Hannah going with the flow trying to hang out with her big cousins:) Can you find her hidden under the book?

Will and Cooper with their new "mo mo's"! This was just a few moment before my mom got wacked on the head and has a nice welp to show as a grandma battle wound:)

Will's new COZY COUPE!!

Then we headed to celebrate at the Brannens...
Santa brought Will some cool shades at the Brannens!

The perfect little table built by Nick's dad for snacks, coloring and playing little people style!

Hope you all had a very Merry Chrstimas!

A Merry Little Christmas for Just the Three of Us...

Since we will be with lots of family on Christmas morning we had our own little Christmas for just the three of us! It sure was fun this year since Will is a little older and was so excited about seeing his stocking and all the gifts. Here are a few pictures to capture our time together.

Will seeing his stocking for the first time...

Daddy's stocking....

So much to look at and play with....

"Look what I got mama and dada!!"

Ripping the presents open is half of the fun!

Will was so excited about the digger that he could hardly wait as Nick opened the box!

Trying to figure out how to use the remote...

One of my favorite parts of the night was seeing the gift Nick wrapped for me:)

And guess what was inside.....a new Janome sewing machine from my sweet hubby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had to try it out right away. I can't wait to sew lots of cute little clothes for our baby girl that is on the way!!

The aftermath.....

Hope you all have a Merry little Christmas!!!!!

"Mo Mo"

If you spend any amount of time with Will you will quickly learn that he is obsessed with "Mo Mo's." A "Mo Mo" is anything with a loud motor (blowers, lawn mowers, motorcycles, chainsaws...you get the idea) and he never ceases to amaze me how he can hear one anytime and anywhere. This fall he was Nick's biggest helper blowing the yard with the "Mo Mo!"
Poor Nick got his workout because most of the time he would carry Will with one arm while holding the blower in the other. Will was in heaven!!!!
