Camp Maranook

The day after we got home from the beach we got these four cousins ready to be day campers at Camp Maranook---the same camp I was a camper as a kid and then met my husband as a counselor while in college.  Lots of lots of memories have been made here so it's pretty cool to come full circle and send my own child.
While the big kids were away we had our own little mini camp for the little cousins….

Friday night we went to Family Night at camp and got to eat hotdogs, sing camp songs, take a tour, smell many smells and see many sights that caused many memories to flood back in our minds.

These might be my all-time favorite pictures. The sneak attack hair pulling caught on camera;)

Annual Beach Extravaganza

Each summer since 2nd grade (well almost ever summer) two of my friends and I have managed to take a beach trip together.  As we have gotten older and added another friend in, we still do our best to make it happen each summer. Except now our trips look a little different than they did when we were 15 and looking for cute boys to walk past on the beach.  We are now doing our best to make sure all of our cute little boys (and girls) that we birthed are all accounted for, fed and and tucked into bed at night.  We are all married and now have a total of 9 kids 6 and under.  Wild, fun and crazy!

It's a tradition to make a stop and see my sister and her family on our way down.  Such a fun treat each year to get to visit with them for a short time.

From the moment we arrive the fun is on….

Watching fireworks on the 4th of July from the dock of the bay isn't a bad view if I do say so myself.

Seeing these two little girls having a spend the night party reminds me sooooo much of their two mamas and the endless sleep overs we used to take together growing up.

 The whole gang!

The last night we celebrated with our hot husbands with a night out to dinner sans kids.

After an action packed week at the beach with this crew you can imagine it was a pretty quiet ride home.

Summer Fun List

Each summer we make a Summer Fun List.  It's really just what it says…its a fun list of things to do in the summer. It's fun for all of us and keeps us being intentional with our time together and helps us do things that we might not do ordinarily.  Here are a few of those those fun things we did together….

Splash Pad!
Numerous days with friends at the pool!
 Summer cookouts with friends!
 Playdates at the park!
Catching frogs and play at the pool all at the same time!

 Donuts!

Stylin and profiling on our way to church!
A little yard work in the mix!
 FroYo!

 More time at the pool!
Milkshakes for Sissy being brave enough to swim across the pool!

Creative TeePee building in the back yard!

Loosing Teeth!

Spend the night parties!
 Weekend visit to the Grandparents!
 Lawn mower Shenanigans!
 Being a HOT MESS!

Art Work on the wall and floor (did I mention he is a hot mess?)

 Lots of snuggle time!

And don't forget mama's need to have a little fun every now and then too--wild night roller skating!

And last but not least VBS! Fun, exhausting, unforgettable and a big week for all!
