On May 13th, our precious little newphew was born in Montgomery. His name is Benjamin "Porter" Johnson! Nick and I were with some friends at Sea Island and got the call on Sunday night as were getting ready for bed. I was so excited that I could hardly sleep. I think that I also felt guilty being so comfortable in the bed and thinking that my sweet sister was in the worst pain of her life trying to birth her first child. We got up early the next morning and drove seven hours to Montgomery and spent a couple of hours in the hospital and then got back in the car and drove 4 more hours back to Athens. It was a long day and we were both a little cranky from a combination of being sunburned and sick of being in the car! But it was such an exciting time to see Mary and Hart's precious new baby.
The week after I got out of school, I went to stay with her and help her for a week. One morning while she was in the shower and I was "babysitting" him, I took 72 pictures of him from every angle that you could possibly think of. This is just one of the many. It is so much fun to see what wonderful and parents they are!
