Fall Festival

Wednesday night we took this little cowboy to the Fall Festival at his school and he was pumped!

It doesn't get much better than fishing for candy.

As you can imagine, it was such a wonderful idea of daddy to give him cotton candy after his bedtime:)

Will and his little friend Caroline.

He was very serious about getting his face painted by his teacher, Mrs. Diana.

What will you be on Sunday night?

A Night to Remember

Any chance I can get away with my hubby and dance, eat, laugh, socialize and just be together is a night to remember!
I love to be with him! I love to dance with him! I love to laugh with him! I love to be his date!
Saturday night we enjoyed the Junior League Gala. It was a special event celebrating 75 years. I am on the hospitality committee so this was our big event that we planned.

We went with our friends Jennifer and Todd.

We danced the night away....the ole' mama hasn't stayed up that late in a long time.
But it was worth every minute of it!

I have so enjoyed finding out who is reading our blog! Thank you all for leaving comments and letting me know. I am still trying to figure out exactly what changes I am going to make to ensure that I am protecting my little angels from all the sketchy people out there while at the same time documenting and sharing a part of our life with our friends and family. I'll keep you posted!

Fun on the farm

Last weekend we headed to Nick's parents and spent a wonderful weekend enjoying fall! On Saturday we went to a farm and watched the a little two year old light up as we took a hayride, watched a pig race, played in a pumpkin patch, went on a big slide, saw many different kinds of animals, took a cow train ride, raced on bikes and much more. Molly Jane did not miss out on any of the action. She smiled and kicked her arms and legs in the Ergo the whole time. I'll let the pictures do most of the talking....

Big boots, little boots, girl boots and boy boots.

Boys vs. girls!!!

It cracked us up how he walked around with his hands behind his back all day.

Squishy little hands and feet.

Grammy love!

Molly Jane did not want to miss out on any of the action, well, maybe it was her momma that didn't want to miss out any of the action.

A great time was had by ALL!

Happy 1/2 year birthday MJ!

This little butterball is already 6 months old! Lots of changes have happened recently. She can sit up by herself now, well, at least until Will comes and plows her over. Poor little girl is going to have to be so tough to survive having a rough older brother.

She is getting up on her hands and knees and rocking. Not sure if I am ready for her to crawl yet but we are enjoying watching this excitment for now!

Go, Molly Jane, Go!

She has found her feed and has discovered they are a fun to chew on.

This month has brought lots of fun changes in both development and personality! We either call her puddin' cheeks or butterball because she is so round and soft. She probably won't like to hear about that 13 years but for now it suits her well:) She has had a cold the past week so she has been waking up more frequently at night and during the day. Yesterday I got mastitis and it was no fun at all-flu-like symptoms, fever, pain etc. Ouch!!! The doctor called me in an antibiotic and that has already made a huge difference. Hopefully we are both on the mend now.
As far as sleeping she usually goes to bed around 7pm and gets up around 7am with an early morning feeding somewhere around 5 or 6. She is taking two naps a day now which are usually between 45minutes to 1.5 hours. Still nursing like a champ 5-6 times a day. She is working on acquiring a taste for solids. We have tried rice cereal and applesauce and neither one were love at first bite.
As far as her little personality, she still is very laid back and happy! She puts up with a lot of craziness from her brother. Any of you mothers with boys have any advice about how to teach boys how to be gentle?
We love you little Miss Molly Jane and think you are pretty special!

Lesson Learned

Don't run any errands right before nap time. Even if it will only take a few minutes.

It's amazing how a few minutes of sleep in the car can ruin a 3 hour nap in the bed...ugh:(

PS Just in case you were wondering why the need for safety goggles and rain books....He told me he needed to wear the safety goggles so that bugs wouldn't get in his eyes and the frog rain boots were just in case it might rain (even though rain is no where in the forecast for the near future). :)

"No thanks, mom!"

Little puddin' cheeks had her first taste of solids yesterday. As I was making her first bowl of rice cereal and telling Will she was going to start eating real food now he got excited and ran back to his room. After a few minutes he came running out with a pear, a bowl and a spoon from his toy food and he said "I'll feed her this, mommy!"
After I explained that he was very thoughtful but she wasn't quite ready for that we got her already to eat in her bumbo with her bib.

Her first reaction seemed to be "no thanks, mom! I don't care for that."

Oh well, we will try again tomorrow:)

Family Photos

I just realized I never posted any of our pictures we had taken in May! They were taken a few weeks after Molly Jane was born and I guess in the craziness of having a newborn and Will's second birthday I forgot to post them but here goes a few of my favorites (in no particular order)...

Before he was potty trained this was a typical outfit for Will-Boots and a Diaper!

This is the one we used for her birth announcement!

One of my favorites!

Kaitie Bryant Photography took these pictures and I highly recommend her! She is fabulous!
