Molly Jane's 1st Women's Retreat

As I was anticipating taking Molly Jane (9 months at the time) on the retreat I did have some hesitations. I was worried about her not sleeping well in a hotel room with 4 other ladies for 2 nights and I was concerned about her being disruptive during the talks. But she proved to be a trooper and just went with the flow! She was actually in heaven having 150 women to play with her and hold her. As you can see in the video below she learned how to talk on the cell phone while we were there. This conversation took place at 10:30pm (3.5 hours past her normal bed time). She had an audience of about 15 ladies and seemed to love to be the center of attention.

I have a funny story that happened .... on the retreat we had free time for lunch on Saturday to go out to eat. I loaded up my car with some other ladies and MJ and we found a pizza place in downtown Helen. As the waitress was seating us we had a conversation that went something like this...

Waitress-Ma'am you can't bring your baby in here.

Me-I can't bring this baby in here??? (I thought I heard her wrong)

Waitress-Yes, the rest of you can stay but babies aren't aloud here. No one under the age of 18 is aloud here. It's a bar.

(I looked around it looked like a Mellow Mushroom type pizza place--it looked nothing like a bar, just an ordinary lunch place)

Me-Oh, ummmmm well it is lunch time and we are just here to get some pizza. We are not here to drink. Is that Ok if she stays with us as we eat pizza? (still a little shocked)

Waitress-sorry ma'am but babies aren't aloud here. She has to leave.

Me-Ok, I am sorry. I guess we all have to leave then since we are all together.

We were all a little shocked they would not let sweet Sweet little Molly Jane stay. I guess this should be written in her baby book as her first (and hopefully only time) to get kicked out of a bar:)

We found another restaurant down the road and I was scared to bring her in there in fear she would get us kicked out again. ha! They welcomed her with open arms. When we told them the story they could not believe what happened. Crazy!
