Moving Day

Wowzers!  The past two weeks have been a whirlwind.  I think this is the first time I have set down on the couch since I wrote my last post.  It's been an exciting, busy, crazy, fun and overwhelming two weeks.  It all began on Labor Day when we moved out.  One thing I learned for sure is that we have some awesome friends and family.  We could not have done it with out them.  They brought us dinners, lunches, breakfasts, snacks, took care of our kids, loaded and unloaded the U-Haul and the list goes on.

Aunt Kelly took some great pictures to document our moving out day.

The moving party started at 9:00 am Labor Day morning!
Banana muffins got everyone started.
Matt was our "U-Haul packing super-star."  Every last inch of the U-Haul was strategically packed thanks to him.
Even though there was a 85% chance we only had a slight drizzle .  Thank goodness!
There were many feet hustling and bustling about,

and a few cute faces watching all the action.

Having your friends move your furniture is quite humbling....it reveals large amounts of dirt and dust.  Not that I had any or anything.  Not to mention all the long lost toys found under the furniture that were rediscovered.

Even the play set was taken apart.

After the U-Haul was loaded down,
we nourished our hard workers.

They deserved it!
About that time our little buddy returned home from a long weekend with Grammy and Pops.  We sure did miss him but I know he had a blast.
He was shocked to see the empty house but his biggest concern was why his play set was not outside anymore.
Running up and down the U-Haul and of course
sitting in the drivers seat was a highlight.
We also had a special guest visitor....Mr Chuck!  Grammy's kidney donor!
Since there were no beds or cribs to be found in the house, guess where this little baby took a nap??  On a few blankets on the hard floor.
Once lunch was over the "cleaning crew" came in.  You know who your true friends are when they come to scrub your floors and bathrooms.  We found out our renter was moving in that same day so we unexpectedly had to do some fast cleaning before he arrived.
Grammy and Aunt Kelly were life savers keeping up with this squirt.
Taking a break to survey the scene!
We were very thankful for the many yummy meals that were brought.

After moving out and cleaning the house all day we crashed at some friend's house.
WE. WERE. EXHAUSTED!
The U-Haul was packed to the brim in the driveway, the kids were zonked in our room and I don't think I slept a wink with the anticipation of the next day.  I had to wake up early to go teach my first day of the year (of course it landed right in the middle of the move).   Teaching was followed by closing (which took 3 hours) and then we unloaded the U-Haul in our new home.
More on that to come....
