A weekend of celebrations

As usual, I am a bit behind on my blog so without further ado let me share a few pictures from our weekend of celebrations with my family.  This is the trip we took 24 hours after we moved in our new house in September.

Friday we were honored to celebrate with my dad at the ribbon cutting ceremony of a new Fisheries building that he has been working on for years at Auburn University.  He had the vision of it and has watched it as it has come to completion.  It is definitely an amazing facility for research, classes, a fish market and much more.  I've always been able to watch my dad excel in being the leader of our family and in the church so it was fun to see him shine on a professional level which is not something I get to see everyday!!

The ribbon cutting ceremony was graced with Aubie's presence which was of course a huge hit with the grandkids.  They were the only kids there so they got some undivided attention.

There was a buffet with the best seafood around and the cutest fish cookies I have ever seen.
Who knew fish tanks would be such a fun place to play peek-a-boo for these two cousins?
While the boys were wrestling and running around the large facility the girls were calmly playing---so typical.

After the ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday and the AU v. Miss St game on Saturday we headed to Birmingham to celebrate my sister and nieces birthday followed by my other nieces baptism.

Sara's choice for dinner was of course Mexican at the delicious Chuy's restaurant.
Followed by frozen yogurt...aka "fro yo."

We woke up Sunday morning to celebrate sweet Hannah's 2nd birthday at the park.

I am sad to say this but this was my first time to meet baby Becca.  She is cuter than I ever imagined and as sweet as sugar!

Sara made an over-the-top cute monkey cake,
for all the cousins to enjoy!
Sara found a "toddler pinata" which was perfect for them to pull the strings to get the candy out instead of swinging a baseball bat and risking their lives:)

After the birthday celebration we were able to see baby Becca become a child of the covenant! We pray she will come to know the Lord as her personal Lord and Savior at an early age.  Sara and Bradley have followed the Lord's calling to move their family to the Ukraine for 3-5 years.  They leave in January and just the thought of them leaving makes me very sad but I am excited to see how the Lord will use them.

After a full weekend we headed back home to get settled in our new home!  I promise more pics and updates to come on that.

Ahhh! CJ, the pastor who baptized baby Becca (pictured holding her) had been our RUF minister at SCAD in Savannah for a few months when I moved. Tom Cannon's pretty awesome. Such a small PCA world!
