5 Months

Warning:  This post is an overload of pictures of the cutest little 5 month old around (at least in my completely unbiased opinion;)).  I couldn't decide which pictures to post so I just decided to post them all.

Henry, we adore you more and more each day. You have brought so much joy to our family by your constant smiles and sweet disposition. We thank God for bringing you into our family.

Milestones this month:
He can sit up when propped up by his arms.
He loves to chew on his feet.
He is teething like crazy but no teeth yet.
He sleeps from 8ish-8ish and usually gets up 1-2 times.
Eats every 3 hours during the day.
Naps are still very random--sometimes 20 minutes long and sometimes 3 hours.
Very happy disposition.

School Easter Egg Hunt

Today we had some fun Easter celebrations at Will and Molly Jane's school. Henry and I went to Molly Jane's hunt and party first.
Y'all, this little girl has my heart.

She is very quiet and reserved around her peers but is very tender by the way she quietly cares for them.  Her sweet demeanor is a joy to be around and she just seems to goes with the flow in a group setting.

I got to Will's class a few minutes early and loved watching him participate.  He was very eager to answer questions and listen to his teacher.
The hunt was serious for these four year olds. They weren't messing around about finding the most eggs. Will had been talking about it all week.

These boys are some of Will's big buddies that he has been in the same class with for the past 3 years.  He is silly and active with his peers yet very conscience of following the rules and doing what the teacher says.  Surprisingly, he is my little rule follower.
I am looking forward to seeing how their little personalities play out as they get older.  I enjoy seeing how they act under different leadership other than myself and with their peers.

Black Tie Recognition Dinner

Nick and I enjoyed a wonderful evening out at Nick's Black Tie Recognition Dinner for work in Atlanta.
I am very proud of all his hard work!  He makes me proud. Very proud.
It was a treat for me to get to leave my mom jeans at home and get all fancied up for a night out.

We mixed and mingled over cocktails before enjoying a divine dinner.

It was a fabulous night and would not have been doable without all of Nick's family.  They tag teamed to keep all three kids for a long evening.  Thank you Grammy, Pops and Kelly for allowing us to go.  Thanks Nick for working so hard to provide for our family.

A Flat Tire, Butterflies, and a Baby Shower

In January, I ventured on my first solo trip as a mom of three.  I was feeling very accomplished after making it almost to my final destination three hours from home and then boom...I got a flat tire:(  Of course, at that moment the baby started crying, Molly Jane went TT all over her car seat and there we were stuck on the side of the road with a huge piece of metal stuck in the tire.  Thankfully, my mom was close enough that she was able to drive to meet us and come help me with the kids and the tire.  After getting the tire temporarily plugged up we were able to spend a fun day at Callaway Gardens with my mom, sister and two nephews.
The raptor show and the butterfly gardens were the two biggest highlights.

Henry was 8 weeks old at the time and Mary had not had baby Ginny yet (I do realize I am about 3 months late on this post but didn't want to forget this trip).

The kids had a ball chasing all the butterflies in the butterfly center.

After the trip to Callaway we spent a couple of days at Gigi and PoppyDocs house getting to do fun stuff like roast hot dogs and s'mores in the fireplace as per Porter's request.

Paul and Molly Jane were such big helpers and very interested in baby Henry.

Lots of fun cousin time=tired cousins

Saturday morning we traveled to Montgomery for a baby shower for Mary's baby.  Hart and my dad were brave enough to keep all the boy cousins while the girls got to do our girly thing at the shower.

Molly Jane and Claire were on the front line "helping" Mary open all her gifts.

Such a sweet shower!

It was a fun weekend but after driving 5 hours with an 8 week old, a two year and and a four year old by myself on Saturday I swore I would not do another road trip by myself for a while:)  That did me in for a while but glad we got to hang out with cousins and be apart of Virginia May's sweet baby shower.

Study-land

You may be wondering where we have been.  Well, my husband has been studying and studying and
studying and studying and studying and studying and studying and studying and studying and studying  some more.  You get the idea. He has been studying a lot over the past nine months for the CFP exam.  The past few months have been very intense as he prepared to take the 10 hour exam this past weekend.  We are so very proud of all his hard work and determination to do well and succeed at his job.  We will not find out the results for 2 months but we are just celebrating the fact that he is done!
When he got home Saturday night from the last day of the exam we greeted him with this banner and some big ole hugs.  We are all so proud of him!  And we so stinkin' glad it's done.  Did I mention I am glad it's done?  I have been in survival mode trying to pull up the slack at home and take care of these three munchkins.  It has been lots of lonely nights and weekends trying to swing this without him so he can studying.  I'd be lying if I said I wasn't exhausted.  I am glad it's behind us and all the more thankful for him and all that he does to help around the house.
Way to go, Nick!  We are proud of you and glad to have you back of the land of normal life:)

4 Months

This little squishy, joyful, delightful, melt-my-heart, hunk-of-love turned 4 months on February 25th.
I really can't express how much joy he brings to our family. He looks around the room for someone to smile at and hardly knows how to cry.  He adores his big brother and sister and goes along with all their games and "loving" they give him.

He is pure sugar, y'all.

Right before he turned 4 months he learned the big trick of rolling over!
He can roll from his tummy...

to his back and from his back to

 his tummy again.

So proud of himself.

Henry, we adore you.  We can't get enough of your joyful little self.

A few facts for the record....
He sleeps from about 7:30p-7:30a but has been waking up 2-3 times during the night.  I think he has hit a growth spurt and wants to eat all night.
Takes three-ish naps a day.
15 lbs 14 oz-75 %ile in weight
26 inches-80 %ile in length
