Jerry IX

Let me introduce to you Jerry the IX!  Poor little Jerry didn't get carved until the day after Halloween but that doesn't mean he was any less loved or important to our family than all the "Jerrys" before him.  Important you ask?  Well, Jerry the First was a very special little Jack-o-lantern.  Let me tell you why...

October 2002 (9 years ago) I went on my very first official date with a very special someone.  That very special someone and I carved a pumpkin together and you guessed it right.  We named him Jerry.  What a fun night that was.  I remember it like it was yesterday.  I am pretty sure we laughed the night away and are still laughing the nights away except now we have two little munchkins to laugh with.

So here we are nine years later keeping the tradition going.  I love traditions and this is one of my favorites.

Will is impressing us with his photography skills these days.    This is one of his masterpieces.

Three of the cutest little pumpkins around!

We are more in love now than we were nine years and we are no doubt more tired now then we were nine years ago.  I guess that's what kids will do to you.  Ha!

Dear Jerry the IX,

Sorry you only stayed on our front porch for one day since you were carved in November.  We will do our best to carve you on time next year so you can spend more time with our family.  We love you anyways and thanks for being a fun memory for our family.

Love, Christina, Nick, Will and Molly Jane

Such a special and festive tradition! I just somehow can't believe it's been 9 years since that date! I'm amazed at how time has brought so many happy memories for you both! Grammy
