Father's Day Weekend

With life just getting busier and fuller with two kids we are realizing we need to be more intentional about setting time aside to spend time as a family and do fun things together. So the Saturday before Father's Day we drove to Hard Labor Creek State Park and had had a picnic, played on the playground and went swimming in the beach area at the lake.

Sunday morning Molly Jane, Will and I let daddy sleep in while we made him chocolate chip pancakes and sausage! We brought him breakfast in bed which turned into breakfast at the table because trying to eat in bed with two kids was a disaster and a huge mess:) But it was sweet time to be reminded of what an absolutely amazing father and husband Nick is. He works so hard to provide for our family all day and then comes home ready to help me and play with the kids. Will screams bloody murder every day when we hear daddy coming home from work because he is so thrilled to see his dad. Before Nick can get his tie off they are on the floor wrestling or having a tickle fight. It is just precious to watch. I know that Molly Jane is going to adore her dad as she gets older too. We are so blessed and honored to have Nick is our dad and father. We love you!

After breakfast, Nick opened his present (which was a stainless steel trash can--how romantic, huh?!? I promise he had been wanting one since we got married so we finally got him one.) and we recorded this video which I thought would be fun to go back and watch in a few years of Will at this age.
